Abstract

Local history writing occupies a special place in the historiography of Hungarian Jewry, being not only its oldest but also its most widespread form. This study provides an overview of local history writing about Jewish communities in Hungary, from its beginnings in the Reform Era to the period following the regime change in 1990.
