The study strives to present the history of the Jewish communities of two small settlements in Komárom-Esztergom county, Kocs and Mocsa, from their beginnings until the years after the Second World War. The research on the settlements was carried out between 2017 and 2019, and resulted in two volumes, Hűlt helyek - egy valaha volt zsidó közösség nyomában (Gone for good – In search of a bygone Jewish community) and Követ kőre - Kocs valaha volt zsidó közösségének nyomában (Stones on a grave – In search of the bygone Jewish community of Kocs). Of course, the research cannot be considered closed, as a lot of new information has come to light since the publication of these volumes. Some of these already appear in this paper.
