In the Roman Catholic Diocese of Transylvania, the synod negotiations took place in a special way. In the 19th century, there was also a diocesan council as a preparation for two national councils. In 1822 and 1848, but in both cases, we find formal errors. It was only in 1913 that the formal rules are fully complied. After that, there will be another diocesan council only in 2000.This is why the present study analyzes the formalities that led to the only valid diocesan synod in Transylvania for two centuries.
