The main aim of the study is to explore the events of the birth, founda-tion and development of a Roman Catholic international religious renewal movement, the Schoenstatt Apostolic Movement, together with the peculiarities of its institutional history. In the meantime, it presents the main features of the international movement’s structure and examines the circumstances under which the Hungarian subgroup of the movement was founded. It gives a historical overview of the movement’s founding in Hungary, how this led to the development of its present organisational structure, the major structural features of the Hungarian community and the most important aspects of the life of the charismatic individuals who established the movement.
