Abstract

With the introduction of a state of emergency declared after the outbreak of World War II, the church rights of neo-Protestant and other small church communities were restricted, and a decree issued by the Minister of the Interior, Ferenc Keresztes-Fischer, banned their activities, including the Church of God.

Tomi József, Budapest Aréna u. As pastor of the Pentecostal community called the Church of God and holding the meetings of the Pentecostal community of their community, István Siroki, on behalf of the Central Organization of the Church of God, he initiated negotiations with the Lutheran Church to establish the legitimacy of their community.
In the Lutheran Church, at the Lutheran Bishop of the Raffay Mining District, understanding and a helpful intention were experienced.
The community received help from the Lutheran Church to allow Pentecostals to become members of the “historic” denomination through regular conversion, which resulted in the Arena Road Church officially belonging to the Damjanich Street Pastoral Office of the Lutheran Church and led by Archbishop Louis Hard. , and from then on they could use their own church as a Lutheran church house of worship.
On June 5, 1946, the interior minister repealed the decree banning them, so that since 1939, illegitimate denominations have been free to operate. We have not been able to come across a description of the semi-legal operation that has lasted for more than five years, far beyond the above few facts, and we have not read any documents or studies about the negotiations and coexistence of the Pentecostals and the Lutheran Church.
The published sources present the material found in the research of all the possible funds of the Lutheran National Archives with detailed, explanatory notes. It becomes clear from them that the support of Bishop Raffay and the Tough Bishop
It required special attention, and we can see that the infiltration of new teachings and practices that caused unrest in the Pentecostal denominations was also a problem for the receiving church.
